Tom Wisdom dot Net has always held charity efforts since the site opened in 2007.  They have supported The NephCure Foundation since 2008 when the young son of one of the admins was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome.  They asked Tom if that could be their charity of choice since it was very near and dear to theirs hearts and he was 100% supportive of them.

The NephCure Foundation is the only organization committed exclusively to support research seeking a cause and cure for two potentially devastating kidney diseases, Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS).

Every Fall, the NephCure Foundation holds fundraising walks nationwide (US) to raise awareness and money for research for a cause and cure of both NS and FSGS.  This is the second year TW.net has had a team for fans to donate to and they decided to up the ante to encourage people to participate.

For any $5 or more donation to the TW.net Team Page, you are entered to win an entire boxed DVD set (region 1) of Mile High, the UK comedy about a budget airline that Tom starred on.  Be sure to include your email address when donating (not visible to the public, just the administrators) so you can be contacted if you win.

Winner will be drawn by a neutral party on September 20, 2010 and will be contacted via email!

Fans want to see Tom Wisdom sport some fangs

We recently asked Tom Wisdom fans what they would like to see him do next.  There were plenty of responses and there seemed to be a similar interest among them.  One being of the cold, pale, and dead sort that you would find on the hit HBO series, True Blood.

Tom isn’t a household name; most would remember him when described as the Captain’s young son that got his head chopped off in the 2007 blockbuster, 300.  That could be to Tom’s advantage, though.  Alan Ball, the creator of True Blood, has stated in previous interviews that they tend to shy away from casting A-list actors.  The reason being?  So viewers of the show see the characters, not who’s playing them.  Smart move Mr. Ball.   Read more

Tom Wisdom – one of the most versatile actors out there that isn’t a household name, has played a wide array of characters throughout his acting career.  What would the fans like to see him do next?

His popularity hit the sky when he played Spartan warrior Astinos in the 2007 blockbuster film, 300.  He was not a newcomer though, he has been a professional actor since the early nineties and had his first appearance in front of a camera in the 1994 made-for-TV flick, Good King Wenceslas alongside the late Jonathan Brandis.  Read more

‘The Lightkeepers’ soundtrack pre-order

June 5, 2010 by Admin · Leave a Comment

The Lightkeepers original motion picture soundtrack is now available for pre-order with a scheduled release date of June 15, 2010.

The album is composed by Pinar Toprak and is light, relaxing, and perfect for a lazy Summer afternoon.  It is the perfect background music for settling in with a good book or romantic picnic.  There is a slight nostalgia to the music, bringing you back to a simpler time.

The disc description states:

Taking a wonderfully old-fashioned, thematic approach with the music firmly rooted in the tradition of melody, up and coming composer Pinar Toprak has written a very romantic score for Daniel Adams’ drama, The Lightkeepers. Set in the year 1912 on Cape Cod, the film tells the story about love, romance and friendship with Richard Dreyfuss playing the lead as an old, grumpy lightkeeper. The music is scored for strings, woodwinds, piano and fiddle and fuses long melody lines and beautiful harmony with American folk music elements. The music has been described as “wistful,” “lovely,” “lush,” and “engaging” in various reviews of the film. We are proud to bring you this romantic orchestral score that stays in your heart for a long time!
