Cheers!!  Today celebrates 6 years since TomWisdom.net opened our cyber-doors!  Thanks to the fans – both the ones from Day 1, the newbies, and everyone in between!  A big thanks to my friend, “T” who helped me get the site off the ground when I had no clue what I was doing.  A huge thanks to his manager for her support and info when Tom was unavailable to update us.  And the biggest thanks to Tom, who has supported us and become a friend to us over the years.  Here’s to many more years to come – it has been a fun ride!!

A new role for Tom Wisdom (300) has been confirmed. He will star alongside Anna Walton (Hellboy II), in the supernatural film, Soulmate, which is written and will be directed by Axelle Carolyn (Centurion and Doomsday). This is her directorial debut; her husband Neil Marshall is the executive producer.

Soulmate tells the story of a woman who decides to retreat to a remote cottage after a failed suicide attempt. She soon discovers the cottage is haunted by its previous owner but decides to remain, hoping to find comfort in the ghost.

The film is backed by Sterling Pictures, Witching Hour Films and Screen Projex and is set to begin filming sometime this month. No word yet on Tom’s character’s name. I will keep you all posted as I hear more.

The Prayers for Lane Goodwin Facebook page posted this yesterday evening: “At 7:53 pm our sweet Lane gained his Angel wings. Our hearts are broken but God has performed a World Wide Miracle through Lane over the past few weeks. Please continue to pray for our family especially Lane’s little brother Landen.”

His family released a statement shortly after his passing and said: “We would like to thank the community for the incredible display of human kindness over the past two and a half years. Our sweet Lane had a beautiful smile. He was full of energy and loved sharks, fishing, soccer, adventure and his brother, Landen. Lane had an incredible Christian faith, and we are able to find peace in the extraordinary life he lived in his short few years.

“We have been amazed and touched by the worldwide thumbs up movement in honor of Lane. Lane believed that the awareness this movement brought for childhood cancers would lead to a cure. Lane’s legacy will live on as we move forward with the commitment we made to him to find a cure.”

ABBEY and GOSFORD PARK’s Julian Fellows, the film will stick to the original period seen in William Shakespeare’s play set in the fair city of Verona. Romeo (Douglas Booth) and Juliet (Hailee Steinfeld), the children of the feuding Montague and Capulet families, meet at a feast and fall deeply in love. Despite the sworn disdain their families hold for one another, they steal away and are secretly wed by Friar Laurence (Paul Giamatti). It is not long, however, before trouble ensues… Unaware of his daughter’s transgressions, Lord Capulet (Damian Lewis), Juliet’s father, has arranged for Juliet to take the

hand of Count Paris (Tom Wisdom) in marriage. Devastated and defiant Juliet seeks the counsel of Friar Laurence, who concocts a devious plan that will alter the lives of both families forever.

Young Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld appears in the role of Juliet, while young British hunk Douglas Booth (you’ve seen him recently in BBC’s “Great Expectations”) portrays her star-crossed lover, Romeo. The House of Capulet will also see HOMELAND and BAND OF BROTHERS’ Damian Lewis as Lord Capulet, Natascha McElhone as Lady Capulet, Lesley Manville as the Nurse (Holly Hunter was originally supposed to play the role) and GOSSIP GIRL’s Ed Westwick as Romeo’s rival Tybalt. The House of Montague is lead by Tomas Arana as Lord Montague, Laura Morante as Lady

Montague and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Benvolio. The cast also includes Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence, Christian Cooke as Mercutio, Tom Wisdom (he was marvelous in 300 Spartan epic) as Count Paris, 

Leon Vitali as the Apothecary and Stellan Skarsgard as Prince of Verona. Oscar-winning designer Milena Canonero has filled the film with opulent embroideries, pearl buttons, gold and silver and tones of velvet and glittering heraldry.

If you have been following HOLLYWOOD SPY last few years, you will know that Carlo Carlei’s film isn’t the only project based on William Shakespeare’s play coming up in the near future. McG (TERMINATOR SALVATION) is preparing ROMEO AND JULIET primetime show for ABC that will focus on two feuding families in Venice, California. There’s also ROSALINE, which is only inspired by the Shakespeare’s play and tells the story from the perspective of Rosaline who was Romeo’s girlfriend before he entered the doomed relationship with Juliet.Lilly Collins and Dave Franco are in the cast.
