Swindon, UK – A city located west of London, has produced a number of famous people, one being Tom Wisdom.  The Swindon Advertiser has reported a list of thirty-seven celebrity Swindonians that hail from the city.  Tom comes in at the number three spot, just behind Billie Piper (Dr. Who) and Nicholas Bishop (Home and Away, Above the Law).

Tom was born into a military family with his father serving in the Royal Air Force.  He, his parents, older brother, and younger sister moved around quite a bit and grew up on air bases in Swindon, Doncaster, and Devon.  In a 2007 podcast interview with Matt Hollick, Tom was asked if he ever considered enlisting in the RAF, to which he replied that he never did because he wasn’t too keen on authority!  Our kind of rebel, right?

While Tom may not have been a lifelong resident of Swindon, he was indeed born there which would make him a Swindonian.  These days he hangs his hat in London, which is the place to be in the UK film industry.

Tom’s upcoming film, The Lightkeepers releases on March 12, 2010 nationwide.
